Luxasia is growing the regional footprint of its “omni-retail” concept, Escentials, starting with Malaysia. Originally launched in Singapore, with an online store and three brick-and-mortar stores, Escentials will launch in Vietnam and Thailand will next.
In Malaysia, Escential launched both physically and digitally on 2 November 2021 with an online shopping site www.escentials.com.my, and a retail store located in a prime ground floor location in the prestigious Suria KLCC mall.
The Malaysia launch brand portfolio comprises a curated and focused collection of 8 brands, spanning fragrances, skincare, make-up, bath & body, and home – Penhaligon’s, Bjork & Berries, By Terry, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Acqua di Parma, Bvlgari, Van Cleef & Arpels and Amouage. Escentials aims to bring in more brands in the coming months.
Escential was born 15 years ago in Singapore and now has three stores. The retail concept has partnered more than 70 high-end niche beauty brands.
“Escentials is one of Luxasia’s key pillars to accelerate the growth of luxury niche beauty in Asia Pacific. Beyond expanding its presence in Malaysia, escentials will also land in Vietnam, Thailand, and other regional markets soon,” explained Dr Wolfgang Baier, CEO of Luxasia.
Despite the difficult times with the pandemic, Luxasia expects luxury beauty in Asia Pacific to grow well. “With increasing consumer sophistication, growing middle-class incomes, and the resultant trend to ‘trade up’, Malaysia’s beauty market is ripe and promising,” said the company in a statement.
