Cosmotec chose Paris to present its two new patent-pending perfume cap systems. One has been designed to be easily recycled while the other doubles as portable mini fragrance bottle.

Recyclable bi-material fragrance cap

Inspired by sustainable packaging solutions, the first metal fragrance cap features a push button that allows the consumer to easily separate its metal (zamak or die cast aluminium) and plastic (PP) components.

The innovation is consistent with Cosmotec’s commitment to sustainability. Positioned as a manufacturer of 100% made in Italy primary packaging solutions, the company uses electricity from renewable sources only and can produce with up to 100% post-industrial recycled (PIR) zamak.

Refillable double function fragrance cap

The second cap is inspired by refillable fragrances, it has been designed to be transformed into a travel perfume.

The closure consists of a refillable container and screw cap with customizable 3D print insert in porous material as applicator. The system can be used with already existing fragrance refills.

Located near Milan, Italy, the family-owned company was founded in 1998 as a zamak foundry for the manufacture of fragrance caps and fashion accessory components. In 2012, a second unit was added to the factory, including a department for the assembly and manual application of zamak embellishments, metal plates and leather components to glass bottles and complex packaging items, covering a total of 3,500 square metres. Production and the majority of surface finishes are managed in-house. In recent years, Cosmotec introduced die cast aluminium, extending its offer of materials.
